Youth Summer Service Trip – July 15-20 2012

I know some of you have been wondering about the mission trip and if there is going to be one. We have found this through Lutherdale. It is in Milwaukee. We would need to get the youth to and from Lutherdale and they would take the youth to Milwaukee. The description they gave on their website is listed below. I spoke to someone at the Lutherdale office today who told me that the mission trip is intended for people who have finished grades 9 – 11. If someone who finished 12th grade wanted to go we would have to get permission from Jeff Bluhm who is the person who would be going with the youth. They have room in this program for 18 males and 18 females and this is a first come first served basis. Currently she didn’t see anyone scheduled for this but said that Jeff may have information from other groups that she does not have. I think the best thing would be to find out who is interested so we can get our group signed up sooner than later so these spots are secured.

A servant event in Milwaukee. Come with your church group and experience a life-changing servant event. We’ll stay at the Tommy Thompson youth hostel and commute to work sites every day. Will serve meals at shelters, sort food in the food pantry, play with community kids, and help out with a small yard projects and spend time learning from people who every day reach out for those in need.

The council has approved a $2000 budget for mission trip by giving $200 to each participant toward the mission trip. This would allow 10 youth to take advantage of this.
